After weeks of work preparing ourselves, the vehicle and our house for a 6 month trip we are finally underway.

We limited our travel today to a mere 20 miles and camped at a rest area in the Tacoma area so that if we had forgotten anything important it would be only a short return journey to go get it - hows that for excessive caution.

The Pacific Northwest greeted our departure with some truly spectacular weather, clear blue skies and temperatures in the 80°F.

Last evening enjoyed the good weather with a group of friends watching our neighbors turn thousands of dollars into wonderful fireworks displays.
